5th Grade Vike of the Month

Vike of the Month-5th Grade. DeLynn has all the wonderful qualities of a VIKES and much more. Academically, Dae is self-disciplined and very organized. She holds herself to a high standard and doesn’t quit until she understands the concepts. he works hard and her grades reflect that. DaeLynn is the kind of student who enjoys learning new things. If you walk into the classroom, you will find Dae quietly doing what she is expected to do. Because she is meticulous with details, she looks forward to things like note-taking. Amazing, right? Give Dae “the boxes” and the playful side shows her excitement about school work. She is wise, witty, and just all around genuine! Socially, DaeLynn is a natural leader. She is good about speaking up and not afraid to speak her mind. She is friendly, cooperative, and patient with others. If they don’t understand a concept that she does, she always takes the time to help them. Although Dae does not need to be the center of attention, she is well deserving of today’s spotlight. She is an excellent role model for many reasons. She is helpful, independent, diligent, and downright delightful. Student of the Month is a great time to honor those students who strive for excellence each and every day. I may be a teacher who is usually on the serious side, but it is students like Dae and her classmates who make my job entertaining and fun. Thank you, Dae, for being such a remarkable student. Keep being awesome!

4th Grade Vike of the Month

Vike of the Month-4th Grade. Audrielle has an amazing attitude and a smile for everyone. Every morning I look forward to seeing her walk through the classroom door, because she comes to class with a great big hug and a morning greeting for me. Take a walk into our classroom and chances are you will likely see her following along and participating in classroom lessons, taking the best notes, trying to help out a classmate or working hard on her next piece of writing. She has one of the best work ethics and is not afraid of hard work. Sometimes things are difficult for Audrielle, but you will never see this girl give up or stop trying. She may get frustrated at times and need a little break, but she can easily reset and get back to work. Audrielle, you will accomplish so much in life with a work ethic like this. Keep up the wonderful work! I am so incredibly proud of you!

2nd Grade Vike of the Month.

Vike of the Month-2nd Grade. Quentin has shown so much growth from this year, and I am excited to acknowledge and celebrate his hard work. Quentin has worked very hard to be respectful to all adults and peers. I have noticed that when he gets an answer he does not like, he has learned to accept that answer with a positive attitude. One of the things I love about Quentin is that he is an individual. He is never afraid to do his own thing and be himself. I would go as far as to say that kindness is Quentin’s superpower. He does a great job of being friends with everyone and going out of his way to play with others who might be by themselves. Quentin is a hard worker when it comes to his classes. He always does his best and is eager to show what he knows. He does a great job all around. Quentin continues to practice being safe with his body in the classroom and school as well. Great job, Quentin!

2nd Grade Vike of the Month

Vike of the Month-1st Grade. Kage has made lots of growth this year and has definitely earned VIKE of the month. Each day, Kage tries his best in the classroom while we work on academics. He has become very good at ignoring behavior and setting a good example for others and I often see him giving others kind reminders as well. Although, what stands out the most about Kage is his kindness. Kage is one of the most empathetic and caring kiddos that I know. He is always looking out for others and if I ever need a favor done for someone, I know I can count on Kage. Whether it’s showing a new student where the bathroom is, bringing another student their sweatshirt they forgot, bringing a sick student their backpack, asking someone what’s wrong, or seeing him include others in play during freetime- he is always thinking of others. Thank you for your kindness each day, Kage, it doesn’t go unnoticed. I’m so proud of you!

Kindergarten Vike of the Month

Vike of the Month-Kindergarten. Weston is very respectful when he keeps his attention focused on whole group lessons and always remembers to use his manners. I see Weston being kind to classmates daily without even thinking about it. Just the other day I saw him helping another student put their things away in the hall when their hands were full. The student said, “Thanks, Weston!” and he, matter of factly said, “No problem!” and went back to putting his own things away. I can joke around and be silly with Weston, but he knows how to reign it back in to finish his work. If Weston ever does need redirection, he listens right away and changes his behavior. Weston has made so much progress this year, and he works hard every single day, making him our Vike of the month. Congratulations! I’m so proud of you, Weston.

High School Student of the Month.

High School Student of the Month--March. Reese makes choosing Student of the Week easy! She is a fantastic student, earning excellent grades in advanced courses, while also participating in varsity basketball and track. Reese also works at the Drive In during the summer months, and is very active in the community. She can always be counted on to help out, whether it's for a class activity or helping a classmate understand an assignment. My favorite thing about Reese is her sense of humor; she makes me laugh often, and I appreciate that so much! Reese consistently turns in her work on time, has excellent attendance, and is kind to everyone around her, which makes her a perfect example of being VikingStrong. Thank you for all you do at our school, Reese. We are so grateful to have you as part of our Viking Family.
