Family Activities - Enrichment Activities

Academic Enrichment

 Imagine learning math concepts by playing with legos or improving writing skills by developing skits and plays. Your children can experience these things and more through Great Explorations, an after-school and summer program for students at nine local schools 

 

 

Family Activities are also planned, including regular family fun nights at the schools. Family activities include:

• Wellness/fitness
• Technology
• Workshops
• Volunteer opportunities

Enrichment Activities are designed to develop the whole child through a variety of clubs and activities, including:

• Music
• Art
• Drama
• Outdoors
• Sports
• Health
• Recreation
• Interest Clubs (sewing, biking, scrap booking, etc.)




  

Academic Enrichment occurs through exciting activities that expand rather than extend the schools day, including:

• Hands-on Learning
• Homework Help
• Tutoring
• Field Trips
• Activities

 

Financial Info  

Fees: Modest User fees will be charged to help operate the program. Discounts and scholarships are available based on family income, numbers of siblings participating, and program usage. Current rates are available by calling your school or BHK.  

Funding: Along with fees, Great Explorations is supported by federal Dept. of Education funds for 21st Century Community Learning Centers administered through the Michigan dept. of education
