FRIDAY’S LUNCH: Whole grain lasagna cheese roll ups, coleslaw, peaches, whole grain cookie, 1% milk

 

Students – There has been garbage found in the halls after meal times.  If you take food out of the lunchroom make sure you pick up after yourself otherwise there will be no food allowed outside of the cafeteria.

 

Please stop in the high school office and pick up your progress reports if you haven’t already received them.

 

Senior photos are due to the yearbook committee before spring break.  Preferably in a digital copy.  Send pictures to arinkinen@baragaschools.org

 

Kindergarten & Little Vikes Registration/Screening April 3. Must be 5 years old by December 1, 2020. To register your child please call Lori at 353-6663.

 

The 4-H Craft Club will meet on April 4, 15, and 22.

 

All Juniors and Seniors will be attending the KBOCC Career Fair on Thursday March 12. Students will meet in front of the High School Office after lunch and return during 5th period.

 

The Study Lab, hosted by TRIO Upward Bound, will be in the library on Friday, March 6th from 3:35 - 4:35 pm.

 

A 4-H Wood Burning SPIN Club is going to be offered dates are Mar 7, 14, 21, April 4, 18, and 25 from 10:30 until 12:30 and will take place in L’Anse. Youth must be 10 years old to join and up. The cost is $15 for youth with paid participation fees or $35 with unpaid participation fees(this included the current year participation fees. Seniors- If you plan to attend Bay College, please apply for Scholarships. They have 300 scholarships totaling over $400,000 per year!  The deadline is March 15. To apply, students should go to www.baycollege.edu/scholarships

See Mrs. Serafin if you are a 10th grade through 12 grade student interested in working at Bay Cliff Health Camp this summer from June 11 - August 12. Students would live at the camp and earn a stipend of $1,500 at the end of 9 weeks. 

 

Reminder the Portage Health Foundation scholarships need to reach the PHF Office by March 20. Ms. Lake will be selling cappuccino every Wednesday, from 7:45 to 8:15 for $2.00 to students in grades 6-12. 

 

Purple and gold striped spirit sleeves are available for purchase for $3 per pair in Room 220 (Mr. Frantti's).

There is after school tutoring every Monday–Thursday from 3:30–5:00 in Ms. Crittenden’s room. 

The 8th grade class is selling Viking t-shirts.  They are $12 each or 2 for $20.  They will be available in Helen’s room.

 

STUDENT OF THE WEEK:  FEBRUARY 24-28, 2020

Middle School is Jaycee L. Jaycee is an active member during class as well as with her grade. She was an active participant during Spirit Week: developing an idea for the banner, dressing up each day, and participating in the activities when no one else volunteered. During class, Jaycee participates daily and makes sure to advocate for herself when needed. She is an attentive student and is incredibly well behaved. Thank you Jaycee for being an amazing addition to my class!  

High School is Kara M. Kara has made significant improvements in all of her classes. She has increased her effort to complete her assignments and has had a positive attitude. Kara has excellent attendance, takes responsibility to bring schoolwork home with her when necessary and she has made improvements academically. Keep up the good work Kara and Congratulations on being chosen Student of the Week!
