TODAY'S SPORTS UPDATE
With no current guidance from MHSAA the local ADs have made a TENTATIVE PLAN (as of today) with the information we have.
We are planning to go with a slightly modified HS schedule with focusing on getting our conference games in.
Please know that all of this can change at a moments notice....I just wanted to get something to all of you with what we know.
As for Jr High Boys BB....We are looking at possible having something in March if it is possible.
As of today for HS....Practice will start on 12/21 with games starting after 1/4.

Dear MHSAA Community,
Today’s announcement from Governor Whitmer and MDHHS has extended the “pause” on high school in-person instruction and high school and middle school sports through Dec. 20.
The MHSAA had provided a detailed plan to both Governor Whitmer and MDHHS that would have completed fall tournaments with no spectators as safely as possible during the month of December along with allowing winter sport practices to resume. While we are disappointed in today’s announcement, we will continue to look forward as we remain committed to play three sports seasons to their conclusion. The MHSAA Representative Council will meet on Wednesday of this week to chart out another plan for finishing Fall and restarting Winter.
Updated information will reach you again following Wednesday’s Representative Council meeting.

MHSAA did not send out an update on Friday as they chose to wait until the Governor decides what the state is going to do. ADs will then meet and decide what to do with our basketball seasons (tentatively on Wednesday).

SPORTS UPDATE:
I just wanted to let all of you know that as of today we are still in limbo to possible changes to our winter sports programs.
However, the MHSAA Rep Council is meeting December 4, and then our local ADs will meet December 7th....
At that point we will have a better idea of what our winter season will look like.
I will keep you updated with any new information.

I am sorry to have to report, (we have been informed by the health department) that the Baraga Girls Volleyball team will NOT be able to participate in this year's Districts due to a probable case of COVID.

***FOOTBALL PLAYOFF INFO***
---The players bus will arrive at the L'Anse school by 8:30 Saturday, and then will depart around 9:00 AM.
---3 meals and refreshments/snacks will be provided for the athletes/coaches (Compliments of the L'Anse Booster Club)
---The bus will return home after the game very early Sunday morning (around 4 am).
---The game will be covered by Scott Koski and Bill Jondreau on 105.7 Eagle Radio ( Coverage will start at 5:40 pm).

Here is an update on ticket sales and info for the playoff football game this Saturday in Traverse City.
Ticket sales will be online.
All tickets will be purchased online.

Spectators will be able to purchase online tickets at the gate as well (they will have an iPad available), and will accept cash at the gate for those who miss the online information.
Spectator gates will open at 5:15.

***ATHLETIC ELIGIBILITY ON APEX***
For anyone taking online schooling on APEX and who wants to participate in athletics the requirement are the same as in school.
1. You must be passing 5 out of 7 of your classes.
2. Passing means that you are at the proper due date for each of your classes and above a 60%.
Examples of being Ineligible ...
---Amy has only started 4 out of her 7 classes because she likes to work on only 1 or 2 at a time (Ineligible)
---Amy is on Unit 1 but Unit 3 is due next week (Ineligible)
---Amy is on Unit 3 and Unit 3 is due next week but she is at a 58% (Ineligible)
