Reminder that Juniors and Seniors will be taking a field trip to the MTU College and Career Fair today. Bring money for lunch or see Mrs. Rinkinen if you're unable to.

The first day of the 2021-2022 school year is complete. The middle/high school participated in stations that refreshed everyone on our school-wide behavior expectations. We are smart. We are respectful. We are Viking strong! We all got to eat lunch together on the field under perfect weather conditions. The elementary had a meet and greet in the morning with coffee and doughnuts. It was great to see everyone! Here’s to a great year! P.S. We hope you like the floors! We still have some finishing touches on them but we think it’s a big improvement!

Baraga Families, Due to construction in the building we were unable to have a traditional open house but we "DONUT" want you to miss the TK-5 Meet and Greet. Parents and Guardians are welcome to stop by the library for donuts and coffee from 8am-9am on September 7, 2021. After getting your refreshments, you are welcome to walk your child down to their classroom to meet their teacher. There will also be a middle school meet and greet near the high school office from 8am-830am. Middle school teachers will be available for parents and guardians during that time. Sixth grade students will have an orientation station from 9am-930am where they will have a chance to find their classrooms and get basic information. The middle/high school will then follow different stations throughout the morning that highlight school wide behavior expectations. A locker sign is available online (link below). Parents/Guardians of new students will be welcome to walk their student(s) into the building to help make the first day of school a success. Baraga Area Schools is excited to announce the new K-12 principal at Baraga Schools, Lori Wisniewski. Lori has been a teacher at Baraga Schools since 2013 and we are excited to have her step into the principal role. We are looking forward to a positive school year for 2021, and beyond. Go Vikings!

FALL SPORTS REMINDER: —HS Football starts Aug 9 —HS Volleyball & CC start Aug 11 —JR High GBB & Football start date are August 23. Every student that participates will need a physical BEFORE they can start practice - so please schedule your physical now if you haven’t already done so. They also need five different permission forms before they can start as well. All forms can be found on our “Baraga Athletics” website (under documents and then under yearly forms for athletes). You can also pick up hardcopies of these forms in the high school office with Tracy - however the office has limited hours during the summer so please call to make sure someone is there. Summer Meet Up to Eat Up is being offered at Baraga Area Schools. Meals for one week will be distributed on Thursday's between the hours of 10:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. This will begin on June 24th and ends on August 19th. Please fill out the form by Monday, June 21st.
