Here is the latest update on our school graduation. Graduation will be on May 29th at 7:00 pm. Unfortunately we are not able to open graduation to the public. We have two potential plans.
Plan A will be to start with a parade through town with the fire department prior to the start of graduation (6:00 pm). A map of the parade will be posted. The fire department will then lead the seniors onto the track/field and they will take one lap around the field prior to parking. There will be seats on the field set up for our 20 seniors, spaced 6 feet apart. There will also be seating for 2 people of each senior’s choosing. Seating locations will be marked on the field. If the senior would like additional people at the graduation, each senior may have 1 vehicle on a marked spot on the other side of the field for that vehicle. Those people must remain in their vehicle for the ceremony. The only gate open will be the West end gate. After the ceremony, graduates will walk their family members to their cars and everyone will leave. Seniors and their families will get more detailed instructions that will be sent to them and handed out at drive-thru senior breakfast.
Plan B is the parade and then a drive thru graduation. The vehicles would be parked along the track/field and would drive down one-by one with the graduates and family members in their cars and no seating on the field. We have gone above and beyond with plan A. Please be prepared for either plan. We intend to use plan A, plan B is a back-up in case of events beyond the school’s control. Thank you for being understanding in these difficult circumstances.
Good news: The Woodland Singers will once again be able to be part of graduation and this year Eagle Country WCUP (105.7) will be doing a live broadcast of the ceremony. It is also planned to be live streamed on social media. We will be following guidelines set by these authorities. Please respect social distancing and health department guidelines. Masks and sanitizer will be available at the graduation. If you are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms please refrain from coming to graduation and take advantage of the live stream and radio broadcast. The district will be following the Governor's orders and health department recommendations.
