Hey everyone! I've put together a resource for parents on ways to get through the shelter-in-place order. Hope this helps!

Here is a fun message from Mrs. Pizziola to all of you!

Vikings,
We all took some time to send some messages to you while we can't be in the school building. Seniors, we didn't forget about you so make sure to watch until the end. Make sure everyone is checking their school email, the website, and teacher pages for the most updated learning information. Email your teachers if you aren't sure where to go to find this information. #VikingStrong

As we all do our best to stay safe during this difficult time, remember our medical personnel as they continue working. Experiencing a lack of PPE such as medical masks, Bay Ambulance reached out to us here at the school for assistance. Our STEM class this year has been learning to design and print objects with our 3D printers, so here is an example of the real world problems we can help solve with STEM and ingenuity. This is a 3D printed mask for medical personnel or for personal use that uses a small 4 cm x 4 cm filter material. Filters can be cut out of surgical masks or filter sheets. Our plan is to supply as many of these 3D printed masks as possible for our local medical workers and school personnel. Anyone who is interested in donating or buying spools of PLA plastic to help out in this time of need can contact Richard Sarau at the school (906-353-6664).

The Class of 2023 World's Finest Chocolate Spring Collection fundraiser has been delivered. Our order was submitted and paid for before the mandated shutdown. For the safety of our students, their families, and the community, orders can be picked up by the customers at the school from 11:00 am untill 1:00 pm, Thursday April 9th. Our distribution site will be located at the central office during the same time as the school lunch pickup program. Refunds are available for those who wish. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Ben Johnston by phone at 353-6116 or by e-mail at bjohnston@baragaschools.org.
Thank you for understanding and for supporting our school.

Guess what Baraga students? We miss you. A lot. So we want to plan a car parade around the neighborhood to wave and say hi. If you would like to wave back at your favorite staff member just look at the map and meet us outside. If you are not on our route and still want to see us we have a parking area planned for you! The car parade will start at the school at 5pm this Monday, April 6th. This will be so exciting but we want to make sure we are all practicing social distancing and being safe during this event. Stay in your cars if you drive and just wave from the window. Stay in your yards if we pass your house and be sure to stand at least 6 feet from people. See you Monday! #VikingStrong
