She genuinely cares about every person she meets, and she does her best to always see the good in everyone. We love her ability to try new things and how she encourages everyone around her to do the same. Thank you for your many years of service and dedication to Baraga! We are lucky to have you!

The time to order a 2022-2023 yearbook is now! Check out the QR codes to speed up ordering online! Order forms will be coming home with elementary next week if you cant purchase online. Order forms will be in both offices as well.

Dear Families, We regret to inform you that we will be unable to provide bus transportation for both morning and afternoon runs on Thursday, May 4, 2023.  If you are unable to transport your child to and from  school on this day, please call (906) 353-6664 and choose option 4.  

NOTICE OF CHANGE IN REGULAR BOARD MEETING OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION BARAGA AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION OF BARAGA AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT, ON THE 8th DAY OF MAY AT 5:00 P.M. IN THE BARAGA AREA SCHOOLS LIBRARY IS RESCHEDULED TO THE 16th DAY OF MAY AT 5:00 P.M. IN BARAGA AREA SCHOOLS LIBRARY.

Baraga Schools is running a two hour delay on Tuesday, May 2, 2023.

Due to winter weather conditions, Baraga Schools will be closed Monday, May 1, 2023.

Parents and Guardians- Baraga Area Schools is taking part in the Michigan Profile for Healthy Youth Survey this year. Within the next two weeks, this survey will be given to students in 7th, 9th and 11th grades. An informational letter, along with an opt-out form, was handed out today. Opt-out forms need to be returned by Monday, May 1st to the High School Office. If you have any questions or concerns please contact Mrs. Pinnow at 906-353-6664.

Scholarship Night for seniors has been scheduled for May 17th.

Today's Staff Shout Out is for Katrina Willey! Katrina is in her first year at Baraga, and she is a one-on-one aide for special ed students. Katrina has a ton of patience and flexibility for the unexpected! She is quiet, but always willing to help out however she can. We are so lucky to have Katrina at Baraga! Thank you for all you do!

Today's Staff Shout Out goes to Ms. Stephanie Gezequel! Steph has been at Baraga for three years now, and she is so kind and laid back. She takes time to listen to students when they need support, and she has a quiet demeanor that makes her students feel accepted and valued. We love her quirky sense of humor, and how she always finds a positive way to move forward after a hard day. Thanks for all you do, Steph! We love having you in our Viking Family!

Parents and guardians, please check your mail for an important letter regarding an upcoming lesson for students in 9th-12th grade on Tuesday, April 25. If you have additional questions please plan to attend the Parent Information meeting this Thursday evening, April 20th at 5:30pm. You must RSVP by Wednesday at 9:00am.

Order your yearbook now! The elementary yearbook is $15 and the high school yearbook (6th-12th) is $28 soft cover. There is an option to upgrade to hardcover. The BHS Physics class is doing one final Krispy Kreme fundraiser donut sale for the year. One dozen original glazed donuts cost $13, we are not selling the assorted dozens this time. Anyone who missed out on ordering but would like to order can email mfrantti@baragaschools.org with your order. Order deadline is Thursday, April 13. Donuts will be delivered on Sunday, April 16 or Monday, April 17.

Today's Staff Shout Out goes to Kerrie Keranen! Kerrie has a way of making all kids feel welcome and appreciated when they are around her. She is also known for her sense of humor! Kerrie has worked at Baraga for many years, previously as a kitchen staff member and currently as a special education aid. We appreciate her ability to roll with the punches and keep smiling, even on the hard days. Thank you for all you do, Kerrie!

Today's Staff Shout Out goes to Dawn VanLerberghe! Dawn does a great job of connecting with our students. She has a calm presence that kids respond to when they are having a bad day. Dawn also shares her love of reading with her students by recommending books and sharing her opinions on stories, authors, and genres. Thank you for all you do for our school, Dawn!
